Dr. Ursel went to Queen’s University for his undergrad and earned his medical degree from the University of Ottawa.
He then completed his internship at Memorial University in Newfoundland before moving to Lindsay with his wife Angie, a Registered Nurse.
He started off in emergency medicine at Ross Memorial Hospital and then opened his family practice shortly after. Dr. Ursel eventually transferred to Emergency Medicine full time and after 20 years became Chief of the Emergency Department.
But soon Dr. Ursel’s entrepreneurial spirit came beckoning. His father, Lorne Ursel, was a successful business owner and Peter was soon to follow. One day per week, Dr. Ursel would rent out a small office down the street from Ross Memorial Hospital to treat small spider veins with sclerotherapy. Over the next 5 years, he steadily increased the number of days working in his rented office, and eventually began working full time in his clinic in 1999.
“It was a scary but exciting time” Dr. Ursel recalls. “My wife recently had our 5th child and I had just quit my job to start my own business.”
It worked out, and over the next 20 years, Dr. Ursel steadily began adding new procedures to his clinic. He now offers laser resurfacing treatments, laser hair removal, Broadband Light Treatment, lesion removal, Veneseal treatment for varicose veins, and injectable treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers, and more.
